Certifications/Qualifications:

 NYS Certified K-6 or 7-12 Science with 5-6 extensions 

   Leave of Absence position teaching 5 sections of Grade 6 Life Science:

  • An understanding of the New York State Learning Standards, and a willingness to collaborate with Professional Learning Teams is necessary
  • Experience teaching/working at the middle school level preferred
  • Preferred candidate has a positive attitude towards learning and is able to build good relationships with children, teachers and staff at school
  • Organized, detail oriented with the ability to multitask and be flexible
  • Calm demeanor, pleasant, compassionate, and collaborative
  • Salary per the SSTA contract

Location:

 Maple Avenue Middle School

  • Monday – Friday / 7:00 am - 12:30 pm / 5.5 hours a day
  • Rate of pay: $16.19 per hour 
  • Prepare / Serve food 
  • Set up prep area/ serving line/ cash register for menu items and ease of service, stock shelves/ freezer/ coolers and service areas
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
  • Assist with cleanup of food/ equipment, dishes, pots/pans and work areas
  • Complete paperwork, recordkeeping or inventory tasks as required
