SSHS and MAMS Department Head - LOA - January 28, 2027 through June 25, 2027
Physical Education and Health Department Head Position:
- PE and/or Health certification required
- Attend, support, and lead 6-12 PLT meetings, department meetings, and DH meetings
- Budgeting and orders in the Spring 2027
- Data gathering and analysis to support academic improvement and growth as part of goals
- Be willing to travel between 2 buildings Ability to troubleshoot scheduling, locations, and resources for classes
- Strong communication abilities and strategies for vertical alignment Strong leadership, planning, organization, and instructional knowledge preferred
Key Qualities of the Candidate:
- Working knowledge of school health and wellness policies and practices.
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities if desired.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Willingness to participate in professional development and training as needed.
- Patience, flexibility, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
- Positive attitude toward learning and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all students.
- Salary per the SSTA contract
