The Saratoga Springs City School District is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute teaching Physical Education to cover a leave from January 28, 2027 through June 25, 2027.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in a K–1 Strategies Special Class, addressing individual learning needs and IEP goals.
- Develop and implement instructional strategies and classroom supports to promote student learning, independence, and social-emotional development.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Establish a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
- Collaborate with related service providers, teaching assistants, families, and other school personnel to support student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate effectively regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in Professional Learning Teams and contribute to collaborative instructional planning.
Key Qualities of the Candidate:
- New York State certification in Physical Education.
- Experience teaching at the High School level, preferred.
- Understanding of New York State Learning Standards.
- Working knowledge of school health and wellness policies and practices.
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities if desired.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Willingness to participate in professional development and training as needed.
- Patience, flexibility, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
- Positive attitude toward learning and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all students.
- Salary per SASTA Contract
