Saratoga Springs High School is seeking a dynamic Special Educator to join one of our specialized class programs. The position is within our 12:1:2 Life Skills Program, known as CARE (Career, Awareness, Readiness, and Experience).
This opening is specifically in the CARE Awareness classroom, which focuses on functional academics, daily living skills, and job-related competencies. Experience working with a job coach and transition coordinator is preferred.
Candidate Expectations:
- Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals within each student’s IEP
- Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques
- Utilizes various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals
- Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students
- Creates a positive learning experience with an emphasis on individualized instruction
- Provides direction to educational Teaching Assistants
- Employs and implements a classroom structure and consistency to encourage student responsibility, cooperation and mutual respect
- Collaborates and consults with educational professionals regarding the needs of students;
